Is Survey Junkie legit or a scam?

Have you ever had one of those days where you thought, “only if I could go online and earn some quick money?” If you’re like me, maybe you even googled on how to make money without having to leave your couch. Even a couple of dollars would help, right?

But most of us are afraid due to the scams that run rampant on the Internet.

Of course, there are so many survey networks out there that you can join, most of them claim to be better than others.

I have to say some of them actually are scams which go on to steal your information as well as waste your time.

Survey Junkie says they will help you earn money while relaxing on your couch!

What is Survey Junkie All About

Survey Junkie has been around since 2005. They have been in the game for 14 years, which means they have a lot of experience in this area.

According to their website, they have over 10 million members who at any time could be working on surveys.

One of the things that I really like about their survey site is that they impact the way we shop online.

Getting started with survey junkie is pretty easy. All you have to do is sign up.

It only takes a couple of minutes to create a profile.

You will be asked questions about:

  • Yourself
  • Family members
  • Income status
  • Which industry you work in

But don’t be afraid of sharing your information as they never share their information with third parties.

The reason you are asked for this information is to help them decide which survey you are qualified to do.

Once your profile is created, you get two options to start doing surveys.

You can log into your profile to see what surveys are available or you can click on the link which lets them know to email you in regards to surveys.

Will You Make Money

So now onto the part which we all really care about.

First of all, I have to say you cannot make a full-time income just by doing surveys.

But having said that you could make some extra change.

Enough that you could probably do some type of entertainment a month with what you earn.

Each survey has a different payout. The longer the survey, the better the payout you will get.

The average going rate for payout is $1 to $3 which is pretty on par with other survey sites.

Although there are some surveys where you can earn up to $75.

You can join focus groups which will pay even higher. But the caveat here is that you actually need to qualify to join the focus group.

Each focus group has different criteria, so depending upon what you say in your profile when you sign up will make a difference.

I find that Survey Junkie is pretty honest. They let you know up front “you will not get rich by taking surveys.”

Right after you sign up, you will immediately receive 25 points.

After sign-up you will need to complete a 16 question profile which will net you an additional 50 points.

As you start to complete surveys more will be unlocked.

Why?

Because Survey Junkie is now learning all about you and where you fit in with their program.

Surveys can take anywhere from five minutes to an hour to complete. So be prepared to invest the time.

There are times where you will complete a survey, but then find out you’re not qualified which is really a downer.

But the upside here is you will get a few points for your trouble.

Your form of payment is via PayPal, e-gift cards and Amazon cards.

The minimum threshold for cashing out is $10. So that’s definitely a positive.

Survey Junkie will only net you $100 a month if you are lucky. Why not go with something more concrete where you can earn residual income which can be unlimited.

What I’m talking about is becoming an affiliate marketer.

When you are doing affiliate marketing you will not have to worry about doing surveys on getting other people’s opinions.

Instead, you are putting out niche products you know your customer base will enjoy.

What do I really like about affiliate marketing?

My favorite thing about affiliate marketing is that I’m able to promote a product that I believe in and am passionate about.

If you’re interested in fashion, you can promote fashion related items.

But if technology is your thing then you would focus on technology.

See what I mean, you’re not limited to what you can sell on your website.

My favorite platform to learn affiliate marketing is Wealthy Affiliate. For an in-depth knowledge about this program read my Wealthy Affiliate University Review.

Currently, there are over 2 million members who are participating in this program.

What’s amazing is we all help each other to succeed.

You can join this program FREE  with NO credit card required.

  1. Hi Jag,
Thanks for the review. In the past, I’ve tried doing surveys to make money and just like you said it won’t earn you a full-time income but it’s nice to have in case you want to go to the movies.

SurveyJunkie sounds legit the only thing I don’t like is that you won’t know if you get money for filling in a survey.

I have to agree affiliate marketing is definitely a better option compared to filling out surveys.

    1. I guess even some entertainment is great. For some that is a luxury, so the survey may pay off in that way. But as you say affiliate marketing is the way to go. Thanks for your comment.

  2. Hi Jag,
You are right. I’m also afraid of these scam and fraud sites. The difficulty is that I can’t check out which one is a scam and which is real.
From this post, I learn some knowledge about the survey site and how it works. I was thinking to have a try in survey sites just for curiosity. Above this, thanks for your suggestion for affiliate marketing as a better place to hang out with.

    Regards,
    Rgpratap.

  3. Great post and good info.

Honestly, I never do these kind of sites anymore, yes you can earn a bit of money, but in exchange you have to give your personal details and thus they can spam you with a lot of things (been there, done that).

I will pass this one as well but thanks for the honest review!

    1. Spamming is a concern for all sites, but these guys are pretty legit in not sharing information. Thank you for your comment.

  4. Hi Jag,

Thank You very much for sharing such an informative review with all the necessary information about “Is Survey Junkie Legit or a Scam – Updated 2019 Review”

Really this is an amazing review.I like this review very much. I was familiar with this survey Junkie and my opinion was negative about this survey junkie.I thought that this is a scam but after reading your review my eyes are opened.I have learn that survey junkie is a legit program by which one can earn money.Perhaps i have also gained all the details of the survey junkie which is very informative for me.This review is very helpful for those people who want to know perfectly about this survey junkie.I will share this review with my friends and relatives so that they can learn survey junkie is not a scam but it is a legit program.

  5. Great info. Survey Junkie seems to be a good place but if this isn’t good enough to get enough earning to quit a job, I’d pass. I don’t like spending too much time doing things for small amount. I agree with the last part, affiliate marketing is by far better than survey monkey. I read about people getting higher success on it. This is a muct try.

    1. It’s a good place to earn a little income. But a better way is with affiliate marketing. Thank you for your comment,

  6. You are right, I think a much better consistent and reliable way to make money online is to get into affiliate marketing rather than doing surveys.

One probably can make some money with surveys, but if you don’t work every day on it, you won’t make money.  However, once you have established your website, your affiliate marketing business should give you passive income.

I checked out your recommendation and I think it looks like a very solid company.  I’ll check it out.

    1. Yes, I agree having a consistent income is definitely better than not knowing what a survey will bring in.  With affiliate marketing, it takes time to create residual income, but it’s something which will keep on giving for a long time. Thank you for your comment.
